Company Synopsis
Simulation Technology & Applied Research, Inc. (STAAR) was formed in 1997, and currently has its offices in Mequon, Wisconsin. STAAR develops, markets, and supports advanced analysis tools for the rapid design, optimization, and virtual prototyping of microwave, telecommunications and accelerator components. End-user software products for the design engineer are highly focused on their needs, with easy-to-start, easy-to-use interfaces to highly sophisticated supporting technologies that make efficient use of modern PC networks and computing clusters to dramatically reduce design times and costs.
Most of our staff has advanced degrees in the engineering sciences or physics, and we have developed powerful custom modeling capabilities for U. S. government agencies as well as public and private companies. We have expertise in electromagnetic solvers, design automation and optimization, result processing, meshing and CAD tools. Some of our most advanced technology was created in collaboration with Department of Energy laboratories, initially to enable highly detailed and accurate electromagnetic modeling of critical RF components in multi-billion dollar particle colliders. We are now bringing this technology to the microwave engineer in our Analyst product.
Analyst provides comprehensive support for electromagnetic design of three-dimensional microwave structures, including support for electrostatics, driven frequency, and eigenmode analysis. Tightly integrated modules allow a user to define the geometry, setup and execute the numerical solution, and visualize and/or numerically post-process the results. Automated finite-element meshing capabilities allow creation of meshes with more than five million elements to allow highly accurate modeling of very complex structures. The sophisticated Python language is fully integrated into the Analyst product, where it supports not only comprehensive scripting, but also user-defined product extensions to the embedded CAD, post-processing, and other modules. Analyst enables microwave designers to significantly reduce new hardware development time via the efficient use of high-performance computer clusters, at a price that it substantially less than established competitive products.
In addition to offering sophisticated analysis tools, we pride ourselves in providing exceptional customer service. By integrating our Customer Support and Development operations, we ensure that there is an individual involved in a support interaction from the beginning that can resolve a question/problem. We always respond immediately to support requests, and usually can resolve requests within a few hours of when they are received.
